1. Which grades does MPCS serve?
Mt. Pleasant Christian School offers quality instruction for grades Kindergarten through 8th.
2. Is there a student dress code
Students should dress in a manner that is appropriate for a Christian school. Cleanliness, neatness, and modesty are the standards which we wish to uphold. We reserve the right to require a student change clothes if the clothing is immodest, sloppy, dirty, or otherwise inappropriate. Here are some specific guidelines:
- Wear athletic shoes for recess and P.E. Platform tennis shoes are not appropriate or safe for recess or P.E.
- If skirts or shorts are worn by first through eighth graders, they must come to at least the top of the knee comfortably. (Fingertip length shorts are appropriate for kindergarten and first grade only.) If skirts are worn for recess or P.E., shorts should be worn underneath.
- Students in grades 5-8 may not wear sweat pants.
- Do not wear cut-off or tank tops, sundresses, midriff or short-cut tops (no exposed skin when arms are raised), "flip-flops," slip-on sandals, clogs, hats, form-fitting pants or shirts, or sleeveless tops or dresses.
- T-shirts will inappropriate pictures or messages are not allowed.
- Jeans are allowed if they fit appropriately and do not have holes or fringes.
- Hair coloring that is not a natural color for hair is inappropriate for school.
- For intramural sports, the dress code as given above is to be followed except that shorts at fingertip length are permitted. This applies to both participants and spectators.
- For all programs, students are required to wear long pants (not jeans) or a skirt at least to the knees and a collared shirt, tucked in. This may also be required for field trips at the teacher's discretion.

4. How do I find out about inclement weather closings?
If inclement weather causes school closing, notice will be given on WAVY - TV Channel 10. When the cause for closing involves road conditions, we will follow the decision of Chesapeake Public Schools. School closings will also be given on our voice mail at school, so you may check this by dialing 482-9557. The voice mail can handle up to four calls at one time. 5. Does my family have to belong to the Mennonite church to attend MPCS?
No, Mt. Pleasant Christian School welcomes students of all denominations.
